Hardware Details
The board carries a G-Switch GT-USB-8016B USB-C plug and two 5-pin headers, and nothing else. There is no regulator, resistor or protection, so every pin connects straight to the plug.

Pinout
With the plug pointing down, the left header carries D+, D-, SBU1,
RX1+ and RX1- from the top, and the right header CC1, TX1-, TX1+,
VUSB and GND. Each pin carries the line printed beside it.
| Pin marking | Pin name | Description |
|---|---|---|
D+ | D+ | Left header, first pin. The plug's D+ data line. |
D- | D- | Left header, second pin. The plug's D- data line. |
SBU1 | SBU1 | Left header, third pin. The plug's SBU1 contact. |
RX1+ | RX1+ | Left header, fourth pin. The positive line of the RX1 SuperSpeed pair. |
RX1- | RX1- | Left header, fifth pin. The negative line of the RX1 SuperSpeed pair. |
CC1 | CC1 | Right header, first pin. A USB-C charger or port switches VUSB on only when it sees 5.1 kΩ from CC1 to GND. No resistor is fitted. |
TX1- | TX1- | Right header, second pin. The negative line of the TX1 SuperSpeed pair. |
TX1+ | TX1+ | Right header, third pin. The positive line of the TX1 SuperSpeed pair. |
VUSB | VUSB | Right header, fourth pin. The plug's VBUS supply line. |
GND | GND | Right header, fifth pin. Ground. |
Voltage and logic levels
| Connection | Supported voltage | Notes |
|---|---|---|
VUSB | 5 V maximum (connector rating) | Carries what the USB-C port supplies, once the port sees 5.1 kΩ from CC1 to GND. The connector takes 3 A on VBUS. |
GND | 0 V | Ground of the plug. |
CC1, D+, D-, SBU1, TX1+, TX1-, RX1+, RX1- | Set by the port and by the circuit you connect | Passed straight through. The connector takes 0.25 A on each of these contacts. |
The board has no regulator, level shifter or protection. The voltage on VUSB
is the voltage the port supplies.
Dimensions
The board measures 22 × 22 mm, and the plug extends past one edge. The two 3.2 mm mounting holes sit 16 mm apart, one in each corner of the edge opposite the plug. With the plug pointing down, the headers run along the left and right edges.
