Troubleshooting
Start with the symptom you can observe. Apply one change at a time, then retry the connection.
The board is a socket with a header and nothing else, so the checks below are about wiring. Each one comes from the KiCad design files and the HanRun datasheet (unpinned writer-supplied evidence).
| Symptom | Check | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| No link to the network | The transmit pair is P1 (TD+) and P2 (TD-), and the receive pair is P3 (RD+) and P6 (RD-). The header is wired straight to the socket pins. | Check that each pair goes to the matching pins of your Ethernet chip, and that the cable is plugged in at both ends. |
| Chassis ground is left floating | P8 (CHS GND) and SH are separate pins, and P8 is not joined to SH or to any other pin on the board. | Connect both P8 and SH to the ground of your circuit. |
